Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No separate call-out fee. There’s a minimum charge of one hour (£45) which covers my time getting to you; after that it’s £40 an hour. For bigger jobs, my half-day (£140) and full-day (£260) rates work out better value.
How do you work out the total cost?
Simple: labour, plus any materials at cost, plus parking if it applies. No hidden extras and no surprises — you’ll know the score before I start.
Will I be charged for parking?
Only where parking is actually paid for, like Worthing’s controlled zones, and only at cost — usually a few pounds for the day. I’ll always let you know up front, and if you have a resident’s visitor permit, even better.
Do you give free quotes?
Yes, always. Getting a quote costs nothing and there’s no obligation — just get in touch.
How do I get a quote?
Call or text me on 07376 555 399, email info@justthejob.co, or use the quote form on my Contact page. Prefer to show me the job? Send a few photos over WhatsApp and I’ll come back to you.
How do I pay?
I accept bank transfer, cash and card. Payment is due on completion unless we’ve agreed otherwise, and I’ll confirm the details when I quote.
What areas do you cover?
Worthing and the surrounding West Sussex area, within about 10 miles — including Goring-by-Sea, Ferring, Lancing, Sompting, Findon, Shoreham-by-Sea, Rustington, Angmering and Littlehampton. Not sure if you’re in range? Just ask.
Are you local to Worthing?
Yes, I’m based right here and cover Worthing and the surrounding towns. When you book Just The Job, you’re supporting a local, independent tradesman.
Are you insured?
Yes — I’m fully insured, so you’re covered for complete peace of mind.
Are you DBS-checked?
Yes. I’m DBS-checked, which offers extra reassurance — especially for elderly customers, families, and anyone arranging work on a relative’s behalf.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes — a 10% OAP discount. I’m especially proud of my accessibility and home-adaptation work, helping older residents stay safe and independent at home.
Do you supply materials?
I can, or you can supply your own — whatever’s easiest. If I buy materials, they’re charged at cost with no mark-up.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the job and how booked up I am, but I always aim to respond quickly and fit you in as soon as I can. Get in touch and I’ll give you an honest timescale.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
My usual hours are Monday to Friday 8am–6pm and Saturday 9am–1pm. If you need something outside those, get in touch and I’ll do my best to help.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
Tell me and I’ll put it right. I take pride in doing a proper job, and your satisfaction matters more than anything.
Do you clean up after the job?
Always. I leave your home as tidy as I found it — you won’t know I’ve been, apart from the job being done.
Is any job too small?
No job’s too small. The little ones others won’t bother with are my bread and butter.
Can you help if I just have a list of small jobs?
Absolutely — that’s exactly what I’m here for. A list of little jobs is often the most satisfying kind of visit.
Do you work for landlords and letting agents?
Yes — I help landlords, agents and tenants with repairs, maintenance and end-of-tenancy work across the area.
Do you take on commercial work?
Yes, I handle small commercial jobs — offices, shops and similar — as well as domestic.
