Terms & Conditions

Effective date: [ADD THE DATE YOU PUBLISH]

1. Who we are
These terms apply to services provided by Just The Job (“we”, “us”), a sole trader operated by Steve, to you, the customer. Contact: info@justthejob.co · 07376 555 399.

2. Our services
We provide general handyman, property maintenance and repair services across Worthing and West Sussex.

3. Quotes and estimates
Any price we give is an estimate based on the information available. The final cost may vary if the work turns out to be more involved than expected, or if additional work is requested. Where the scope changes, we will discuss this with you before proceeding wherever possible. Prices are based on labour, plus materials, plus any parking charges incurred, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Appointments
We will agree a date and approximate time with you. If we need to reschedule, we will give you as much notice as possible. Please give us reasonable notice if you need to cancel or rearrange.

5. Payment
Payment is accepted by bank transfer, cash or card. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the work.

6. Materials and parts
Where we supply materials, these are charged in addition to labour. Any manufacturer warranty on parts is passed to you; we do not provide a separate warranty on supplied materials beyond this.

7. Our workmanship
We take pride in our work and carry it out with reasonable care and skill. If you’re not happy with any work we’ve done, tell us within 14 days and we’ll put right any genuine defect in our workmanship at no extra charge. This does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or issues arising from the pre-existing condition of your property.

8. Insurance
We hold public liability insurance. This covers damage caused by our negligence. It does not cover pre-existing faults or issues unrelated to our work.

9. Access and safety
You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the work area. We reserve the right to postpone or decline work where we consider conditions unsafe.

10. Scope of work
We carry out work safely and to a high standard. Some jobs — such as gas or boiler work, or electrical work requiring certification — legally require a specialist registered tradesperson. Where a job falls into this category, we’ll let you know and can recommend a trusted specialist.

11. Liability
Our liability is limited to the cost of the work carried out, except where the law does not allow such limitation (for example, death or personal injury caused by our negligence). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Photos
We may take before/after photos of completed work for our records and portfolio. We will not identify your address or personal details. If you’d prefer we don’t, just let us know.

13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
